  • The journal was founded in 1998 by Neil Sloun, who previously published two books on integer sequences and founded the online encyclopedia OEIS. 
  • The journal was established to publish scientific articles related to sequences collected in OEIS. 
  • Since 2002, the journal has been published under the auspices of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, with Professor Jeffrey Shallit as the main editor. 
  • Authors do not charge for publication, and all articles are free for all readers. 
  • The journal publishes approximately 50-75 articles per year. 
  • From 1999 to 2014, the journal was ranked as a third-quartile journal in discrete mathematics and combinatorics by the SCImago Journal Rank.
